Featuring some of Australia's finest brass musicians and educators, the festival provides an immersive experience for players, fostering technical growth, ensemble skills, and musical artistry. '
The standard of performance is exceptionally high, with participants performing pop-up concerts in the town followed by the showcase. The festival attracts bands from across Victoria and beyond, including Glenferrie Brass, The City of Greater Dandenong Band, Hyde Street Youth Band, Creswick and Daylesford Bands as well as Wodonga Brass and the Victorian State Youth Brass Band.
You can catch free pop-up performances across the Bright township during the day including the Bright Markets in Howitt Park and Gum Tree Pies in Anderson St, then settle in for the Brass Festival Showcase from 5pm at the Bright Community Centre where bands from across the state battle it out for prizes including Best Soloist, the Lithgow March Prize, Most Entertaining Performance and Most Outstanding Performance of the festival.
